From June 4, the exhibition “Seeing Greek in Etruria. The Hydriae of Cerveteri<\/strong>” will be open to the public at the Cerite National Archaeological Museum<\/strong> in Cerveteri. Curated by Director Dr. Vincenzo Bellelli<\/strong> and Dr. Patrizio Fileri<\/strong>, the initiative will involve prestigious national and international partners, such as the Louvre, the British Museum, the Vatican Museums, the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, and the Capitoline Museums, as well as numerous other Italian lenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The exhibition will highlight Cerveteri’s international role in the Archaic period and its special relationship with the Greco-Oriental world, through the display of a wide variety of Ionian imported ceramics<\/strong> and works demonstrating their influence on local production. Significant examples of these contacts are found both in vase painting and in decorative terracottas<\/strong> used in architecture, productions of which Cerveteri, in the second half of the 6th century BC, was particularly active.
