Imperiali Castle – Francavilla Fontana
March 21, 2026 – July 31, 2026
The Scientific Project
Curated by Pierluigi Carofano, the project draws inspiration from Omar Calabrese’s celebrated essay, “The Neo-Baroque Age” (1987), and unfolds in a journey that unites the theatricality of Rubens, Van Dyck, Bernini, Pietro da Cortona, and Guido Reni with the spatial influences of Fontana, De Chirico, and Schifano, and the tensions of informal language and contemporary influences.
All within an immersive exhibition enriched by bilingual panels, extensive captions, and an official bilingual (Italian/English) catalog-guide.
A bridge between art and territory
The Baroque and Neo-Baroque exhibition consolidates Puglia’s vocation as a land of culture and hospitality, showcasing the region’s architectural and artistic heritage and strengthening the public-private network that supports Puglia Walking Art initiatives.
The Imperiali Castle in Francavilla Fontana, a true Baroque jewel, becomes the stage for an experience that blends art, history, and innovation, offering the public a sensory journey through light, matter, and spirit.
