Transported Asset Protection Association is the association for the protection of goods intended for transport. It represents a one-of-a-kind forum bringing together global manufacturers, logistics service providers, express couriers, police and security forces, public bodies and other stakeholders. The common goal is to reduce losses in international supply chains.
Companies that need to transport high-value goods to certified warehouses or distribution centers require compliance with these logistics security standards. TAPA standards are generally required for the transportation of pharmaceuticals, tobacco and derivatives, hi-tech products, luxury clothing and many other high-value goods. The enormous development achieved by air transport has led to the expansion of the entire series of services that are ancillary to it. In the cargo sector, a large number of these services are now provided by freight forwarders and so-called cargo agents, who have thus assumed an increasingly important role in aeronautical commercial practice in recent years. This internationally uniform practice has shaped their figures in a peculiar way, clearly differentiating them from their counterparts in the land and maritime fields. The most qualified air carriers and freight forwarders act exclusively through the IATA (International Air Transport Association) which is responsible for stipulating an “agency” contract on internationally uniform conditions with freight forwarders or freight operators who meet certain requirements. The procedure begins with the request that the cargo operator, who believes he can satisfy the rigid technical specifications required, addresses to IATA. A special committee, made up of the carriers, first assessed the existence of the technical requirements declared by Butterfly Transport. Since this evaluation was positive, a discretionary evaluation was therefore carried out, which is generally based on the technical opportunity of using a new agent given the market conditions. This evaluation was also positive and Butterfly Transport was registered in the list of IATA Cargo Agencies.
Butterfly Transport has been an IATA Agent since 11/13/2020 with number 38471390005.
