Ferrara, Palazzo dei Diamanti
28 OCTOBER 2023 – 25 FEBRUARY 2024
Ferrara pays homage to Achille Funi (Ferrara, 1890 – Appiano Gentile, 1972) with a major anthology.
Among the most significant and sensitive interpreters of the artistic climate of the first half of the twentieth century, Funi took part in the most important movements of the time: from futurist research to the attention to the poetics of magical realism, from mural painting to the recovery of the Italian tradition of the Renaissance and classical antiquity.
Over one hundred and thirty works illustrate the path of a modern artist devoted to classicism who, through passionate research into pictorial techniques and forms, was able to gain a leading place in the panorama of Italian art of the 20th century.
Exhibition organized by the Ferrara Art Foundation and the Art Museum Service of the Municipality of Ferrara
From an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi
Edited by Nicoletta Colombo, Serena Redaelli and Chiara Vorrasi
